frustrated at me because he knew I did not check the oil guage before powering it in which he has been constantly emphasizing for years but I failed to yield.
As a father, he scolded me to the bone by blasting and flogging me with words and that is why people asserts that "words are painful than strokes of cane". I was disappointed in myself as I calmly had to go outside, sit down and started thinking about the lessons I have learnt from the incidence and thankful to God, I was able to gather to myself some management lessons from my father's scolding.
Here are the five management lessons I got from my father...
1. Take care of the most little thing in your organization.
2. If you fail to effectively manage what you is in your care, the consequences will be unbearable.
3. Sense or values does not come through the picture of your dress or outward appearances. Sense and values can be attached to how smart you can manage the most little things in the organization.
4. Managerial check is essential to carry out frequently because yesterday's grace might not be sufficient for today.
5. Not yielding to instructions causes unbearable failures.
Afterthoughts
Endeavor to leave no loopholes as little as it can be in your organization because they only create spaces for failures of different sort and if you know it is hard to manage everything in the organization, hire or delegate people who can do that for you even in a way that might not involve monetary reward.Having understood these lessons, my managerial skills have been highly upgraded especially if I want to power that very generator and this also applies to other areas of my life and in the things I operate.
