enjoy him for is the ability to give detailed analysis about a particular matter and this picnic paid off as he launched me to a larger world of possibilities.
Although, he might not know that he has given me tips and principles on how to manage and successfully operate a project or an organization and I remain thankful to God for that day.
Below are the tips he shared with me...
1. Do not put all your eggs in a basket.
My father is a self-employed operator and he actually enjoys his job but he wouldn't consider that as the ultimate. He decided to go into farming even long before I was born. Farming for him is a second job that gives him fulfillment and through this, he sustains his family even beyond what his real profession can care for. Putting all your eggs in a basket will limit your perspective and will hinder you to be more than averagely free financially.
2. Whatsoever your hand findeth to do, do it with all your strength.
This is a portion of the Bible (Eccl. 9:10). As an operator, he is fully committed to his job and even as a farmer, he gives a total of hundred percent to make his dreams come to reality. You need to put an extra effort to what you are doing to experience an extra massive success.3. Failure is not the end.
Recently, he came home and told my mother and I with my sibling that some deadly insects have eaten his crops in one of his farms. Looking at his reactions, he was devastated and sad about it and I was sad also looking at the resources he had used to make things work out. The next morning all I could hear him say was that he was going to travel to get pesticides to be used in spraying the crops and this made me to think and come to conclusion that though his expectation fell short but he was not afraid to still make things work again out even on the failure that was encountered. When you fail, do not think that is the end. Stand up to your feet and try again !!!
4. Learn to delegate.
You cannot do everything at a time unless you want to wear yourself out. Many a times, I would see him connecting with people that will handle stuffs for him while he is doing other necessary things. Delegation will save you time and will help you to stay from wearing yourself out.5. Learn to supervise.
He told me something that made me understand while some of his farms were not experiencing the better best. If you could remember, I said he has a real occupation of his and while he is away or filled with schedule for his job, oftentimes, it can take him a larger period of time to clear the schedule and thereby not getting the opportunity to go to the farms. Since he cannot go to the farm, he will not be able to supervise the farms and this oftentimes cause his delegated works to be done lightly. If you want to thrive in managing your organization, you need to be up and doing in supervising your projects. If you are not chanced, put it in a care of a trustworthy personnel who would not fail you.
6. Appreciate the people working with and for you.
This has been a custom of my father and he does not joke with it because he believes that in doing that, opportunities keep springing up.Final Thought
If you fail to manage things they way they should be managed, failure is inevitable.Comment your thoughts below and do not forget to share.
