InspirationFriday: My journey to being a desirable

Columnist: Patricia John

Everyone needs to be appreciated in life but life struggles can be so zany.
You live among friends who have high class profiles but they never see anything good about what you do, they always find faults about every of your doings, you feel
so sad and dejected sometimes when you are around them, most likely at times when it comes to discussing about certain issues your opinion is not needed at all, then you begin to ask yourself questions like “O God why did I come from this kind of family ".
I once find myself in such a situation in my junior high days, among my peer group I was the poor kid and I find my self in the means of kids whose class were high. They never really appreciate the things I do because they think am not up to their standard and this hurt me a lot, they consider everything I do as been local and absurd.
It was a very tough time for me, I toiled with range,  the worst part of it all is that you cannot just change friends because everyone in the class already have their crew, we happened to be three friends at first but later we became five and every member of the team was a top general except for me, even the new friends who joined the team where far respected than me, I kept on contemplating everyday on what I can do to make my friends see me as a better kid rather than just a little low profile fellow from the slum, none of them wanted to share their problems with me because they think I do not have any thing good to offer and it continued like that until we got to senior high where everyone wrote the final examination and went our separate ways.
It was after we left school I figured out something that one is only poor and inferior if only he or she chooses to be and our state of being rich, superior or poor is not determined by the amount of money we have in our account or the kind of luxurious life we live but rather is what we have upstairs and how knowledgeable we are, and not until you discover the you in you, life has nothing to offer you… and then again life only give us what we demand.
I discovered the me in me and when I got to the higher institution I changed everything about me, I never paraded myself as an high class fellow but everyone sees that in me, everyone wants to associate with me,  I was known by almost everyone in the college and I tell you it was a wonderful experience, I became friends with almost all kinds of character you can find on earth and that was when I discovered that no matter how bad or useless you think a person might be they have one thing or the other in them that makes them unique. No human on earth is 100% useless, everyone is special in their own way, some have lots of things that makes them special, others have just one or few things that makes them special. Whichever ways, search your innermost mind and you will get to find that special thing in you…

AFTERTHOUGHTS

If you discover your place in this world the world will definitely make space for you.

The greatest crisis we have today is identity crisis and until we find our true self, we will continually be suppressed and oppressed by others.

Believe it is possible and you can do it as nothing is impossible in life.

There is no problem that cannot be solved in life, the only problem that might seems hard is the redefinition of our thought pattern.
