If I am to score myself on a scale of 1-10 on my spiritual life this year, I would score myself
0. Why? I was not even spiritual to the level that is to be called average and this solely affects other areas of my life.
Spirituality is the root and ground basis for a standard life living. Anyone not spiritual is living as a carcass and things cannot work out for him. I can boldly confess that all what I have gotten this year was through God's mercy. I cannot count the number of times I fell into a sin that almost terminate my destiny. I can tell you how I lived my life in a way God did not want me to. I can share with you my horrific experiences that renders me powerless. The good news is that I cannot afford to experience such the coming year.
Assess your spiritual life. How often do you pray? Do you study God's word? Do you live a righteous life? Do you hear from God? Are you aware of his plans and thoughts for your life? Do you have any fire at all? Assess yourself.
I believe you have done that. Now, go to God and lay low in your heart. Share with him your anguish about your spiritual life. Let him know you are not happy with your present state. Seek forgiveness for what you did not do that you could have done. Ask him to bestow his mercies on you and ask for the grace to see the coming year and to even do better than this year.
I believe your prayers have been answered. This evaluation process is there for you to reposition yourself and your spirituality and to make you stand strong in God.
