The Life That Glorifies God

Happy sunday to everyone. It's good to have you here today and I hope you had a great worship encounter. As scheduled, today is meant for 'sermon' and I'll love to tag it 'sermon sunday'.
  The topic we are to examine today is 'the life that glorifies God' and our text will be gotten from the book of Luke 18:18-22(AMP)

18. And a certain ruler asked Him, Good Teacher [You who are  essentially and perfectly morally good], what shall I do to inherit eternal life [to partake of eternal salvation in the Messiah's kingdom]?

19. Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me [essentially and perfectly morally] good? No one is [essentially and perfectly morally] good--except God only.

20. You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery, do not kill, do not steal, do not witness falsely, honor your father and your mother.

21. And he replied, All these I have kept from my youth.

22. And when Jesus heard it, He said to him, One thing you still lack. Sell everything that you have and divide [the money] among the poor, and you will have [rich] treasure in heaven; and come back [and] follow Me [become My disciple, join My party, and accompany Me].

The above text made it known that a certain religious leader went to meet Jesus to seek the way to eternal life. The man, having been religious all his life was given certain principles by Jesus but due to his heart and mindset, he discarded it.
  I have come to realize that most people including myself think that our lives glorifies God when God actually is really sober over us. A lot has been happening in the world and most wicked people still think they are in line with God when God is not in line with them. Most are like Saul who became Paul, he thought he was doing God service when in the actual sense was going against God. Brethren, we have to get ourselves right. Most people pray without even knowing the right way. This calls for order!
  Like the religious man, we've taken Christian activities to imply that our lives is appeasing to God. I have to tell you that "Activity is not Christianity!" I have been able to come across people who do things that are contrary to God's will and yet, they still think they are serving God. This shouldn't be!
The question is if we want our lives to please God, what are the necessary prerequisites?
According to the passage, we must do the following;

1. Acknowledge that God is good

2. Keep the commandments

3. Commit all your treasures into God's Kingdom

4. Follow Jesus [become His disciple, join His party, and accompany Him].

5. Engage in the right deeds of life.

A life that will glorify God will also do much to abide with the fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5.
Fellow brethren. God demands our utmost life and He longs for us to please Him. God is always ready for us but the problem is we aren't ready for Him. We really need to please Him in order to get blessed by Him.
